If experiencing a different culture - tasting its food and wine, learning about its history, art, language, customs, and more - appeals to you, you'll love our thoughtfully curated, small-group tours. Meaning “a little of this, a little of that” in French, "Meli Melo" hosts about 8 to 10 guests at a time, and we team up with outstanding local professionals - guides, chefs, drivers, and more to provide an authentic, immersive, and hyper-local travel experience. In addition, we always include a "wellness" piece - we might hike up to a breathtaking view, take a yoga class in french, or e-bike through vineyards.
We are booked for spring 2024 tours hosted by Bernard and Jenn (in photo on the "Pont d'Avignon"), but we have a few spots left in our fall tour - Sept. 28 to Oct. 5.
If you're a student of French, you might like to join our language-immersion "Parlez en Provence" tour next May (10-17). Jenn will be partnering with french teacher Nina Schmir on this unique tour. We'll stay together in a villa, where we'll gather for daily yoga and french lessons, chefs will cook for us, and we'll explore the region - speaking French tout le temps, bien sur!
Or you might like to gather a group of friends for a tour next fall, when we're offering experiences in both Provence and Burgundy.
We also offer travel-planning services if you'd like help plotting out your own vacation. We will gladly provide references from clients for whom we have designed itineraries and booked hotels, restaurants and local guides for their vacations in France and Portugal.
Every Meli Melo tour includes shopping at outdoor markets, which are not only a place to purchase beautiful, seasonal, farm-fresh, local foods and top-quality artisanal products, but where one can experience a much-beloved Provençal tradition.
With such exquisite ingredients readily available, we often feel compelled to don our aprons and get into the kitchen. Meli Melo tours include a cooking or baking class that is always fun, engaging, and delicious - and sometimes inspires guests to recreate the recipes back home!
We stay at the finest accommodations - boutique hotels with modern amenities, superior service, local character, and restaurants with standout cuisine. Or we sometimes stay in a luxury villa, where we savor fabulous chef-cooked meals.
